How You Can Help Students

Students need your help.  Many schools do not have the resources, personnel, or expertise to meet all the needs of its students.  You are a valuable asset to school.  You can provide numerous services to schools and students.

Volunteer Your Time

Schools are in need of adults who can come in and assist teachers. Some of the areas which you may help in are: tutoring, reading to students, monitoring, clerical work, and being a students friend.  Assist schools with fund raisers, generally, each school has a person who is responsible for fund raisers.  Contact them and offer your assistance.  Schools also need guidance and input.  Call your local school and ask how you can get involved.  Most schools have active PTA's and School Advisory Councils.  The important thing is to get involved!

Volunteer Assets

Schools cannot always afford to have all their needs met.  Small schools, especially elementary schools, do not have large budgets.  You and/or the company you work for can make a donation of, not only funds, but materials to a school.  Are you or your employer upgrading equipment?  Donate it to your local school.  Your local school may just need additional supplies, i.e., paper, binders, custodial supplies, etc. Don't be afraid - contact your local schools and ask what you can do!
